Apex keel inspection

The latest Offshore Special Regulations announced in January require keel and rudder inspections for Category 2 and above events, within 24 months of the start of a race, or following grounding.

Working with the RYA and local yacht surveyors, Fox’s will assist with providing a certified ‘keel and rudder check’ service to all racing yacht owners. With a convenient location, 24hr access and travel hoist for vessels up to 25m, Fox’s can organise the haul out and checks, whilst also attending to any other repair or refit work as required.

Subject to a satisfactory inspection, the RYA then provide a simple ‘Statement of Compliance’ which can be used by owners to demonstrate to organising authorities that they have adhered to the new OSR requirements. For further details visit visit www.rya.org.uk.

If you would like to book in your vessel for a keel and rudder check, or require further information please call +44 (0)1473 689111 or email foxs@foxsmarina.com.

The owners of the East Coast racing boat Apex pictured here took advantage of this new service whilst she was ashore undergoing sheathing and re-profiling of keel and rudder.
