Oyster 885 Ayni

The Oyster 885 ‘Ayni’ departed Fox’s last week looking showroom ready, following a comprehensive refit and recommissioning.

Fox’s Marina Manager, Lee Gilson was onboard to offer support to the professional crew and oversee the initial delivery from Ipswich across the Bay of Biscay, prior to the yacht making her way through the Straights of Gibraltar and on to Palma, where Ayni is planning to take part in the Oyster Regatta.

The long list of works to Ayni includes:

  • Removal of her 38m carbon rig for inspection, painting, and complete overhaul of standing and running rigging.
  • Engine out and ballast keel off for inspection and re-bedding.
  • Application of Coppercoat to underwater surfaces, and new Awlgrip topside paint.
  • Teak deck planking replacement and refinishing.
  • Engineering overhaul and servicing of all systems including engine, gensets, bow and stern thrusters, hydraulics and associated electrical systems.

Ayni’s owner purchased the boat knowing that she was in need of a significant refit to bring her up to his exacting standards and he is delighted with the result. He said, “All of Fox’s staff were committed to the project throughout – we would recommend Fox’s to anyone considering refit services on this type of vessel.”
