Oyster 885 with mast/boom being stepped

Stepping a 38.5 metre mast isn’t a job for the faint hearted and this job had the added exhilaration of being the largest mast step Fox’s have completed to date.

All went smoothly and the new Oyster 885 is now sitting comfortably in the marina, looking fabulous with her new composite rig in place.

The standing rigging is ECsix from Future Fibres, supplied by Hall Spars. This state-of-the-art technology made from bundles of pultruded carbon rods gives significant weight saving over conventional stainless rod rigging.
