Fox's Customer Service Team

Ralph began his career at Fox’s as a 15 year-old apprentice in September 1972 and is our longest serving member of the Fox’s team.

Back in the 1970’s, Ralph started out learning how to make sets of rigging, haul and launch boats, fitting engines and general woodwork before progressing on to building various one-off cold-moulded race boats, which included Odd JobTumblehomeSilver Spirit and Santa Evita. Ralph was one of the team who built the Fox 700 range of motorboats and also produced the mould tools for Shetland Boats, Mirage Yachts, the SJ32s and SJ36’s as well as the last wooden boat built at Fox’s, Arethusa, in 1979.

When the Fox’s yard moved to its current site, Ralph was promoted to Workshop Supervisor then Workshop Manager before progressing into his current role as Services Manager. With his range of knowledge, experience and legendary memory – Ralph Catchpole is the best starting point for any boat related enquiry.
