Farewell Andy!

Posted on: Friday, 13th October 2023

We bid a fond farewell to our esteemed Senior Rigger Andy Wade, who has been an integral part of the Fox’s team for 11 years. Andy is embarking on a new chapter in life, fulfilling his dream of living in France.

Andy (and his iconic flat cap) became part of the Fox’s family initially as a subcontractor, having previously accumulated years of experience self-employed, teaching sailing, delivering boats, and maintaining them. Keen to learn rigging, when a position came up in the department, he jumped at the chance and has since rigged countless Oyster Yachts and many other vessels.

The highlight of Andy’s time at Fox’s is, without doubt, having the enviable task of providing rigging support to the second Oyster World Rally, in particular, visiting French Polynesia (where he no doubt brushed up on his French language skills).

Andy clearly has no intentions of slowing down and is keen to start a yacht delivery and maintenance company once established in France.  At the same time, he is adamant he will also make time to sail boats rather than just fix them.

Please join us in wishing Andy the best of luck for the future. We thank him for all his hard work and commitment; he will be sorely missed.
