The Ocean Youth Trust North’s sail training vessel, James Cook, has returned to Fox’s Marina & Boatyard after her busy summer season. A regular visitor to the yard, she returns to Fox’s for a small refit and a variety of works to maintain the stringent regulations required by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency for the maintenance and operation standards of a sail training vessel. Work will include service of engine, genset, seacocks and systems; welding modifications, including bow roller; rig inspection; bottom paint; annual gas and system certifications.
The Ocean Youth Trust North provide youngsters with the opportunity to experience the exhilaration of ocean sailing irrespective of their ability and background. Their achievement and the skills learnt whilst working as a team and experiencing the wide and varied skills taught whilst offshore sailing ensure a large proportion of participants overcome personal fears and go on to become enthusiastic sailors.
Fox’s is pleased to help play a part in encouraging the continued success of this fantastic organisation in recognition of the charity’s volunteers and donors.
