New appointment and promotions strengthen customer service team at Fox’s Marina & Boatyard

We have recently said farewell to two long-serving, well-known and respected members of the Fox’s team with over 40 years’ service to the company between them. We thank them both for the huge and invaluable contribution they have made to the Fox’s business and wish them both very long and happy retirements.

George McCormick was key in developing Fox’s Electronics into the highly respected centre for marine electronics expertise it is today, whilst Martin Newlyn’s knowledge of working in stainless has helped secure Fox’s position as a key supplier to various international yacht builders, including Oyster, Spirit and Gunfleet Yachts.

Businesses need to continually evolve as people retire or move on and in order to make the best use of the skills we have at Fox’s and ensure we remain in the strongest position to win and efficiently deliver work in the years ahead, we have taken this opportunity to implement a slightly different structure that will ensure that we achieve these goals.

We are therefore pleased to welcome Roger Goldsmith in the new role of Refit Sales Manager. Roger has spent his entire working life in the marine industry, starting off his career on the south coast with the manufacturers of WEST SYSTEM epoxy and most recently as Managing Director of Kraken yachts, based in Hong Kong. He is a life-long sailor and, having moved his young family back to the UK to join us, is committed to helping develop Fox’s further.

Roger will focus on new refit business and heads up the Fox’s Sales Team alongside Ralph Catchpole who, with over 45 years’ service, will concentrate on selling the service work he knows so well – supporting our on-site yacht brokers, dealing with surveyors, insurance enquires and supporting our local yachtsmen. His experience and enthusiasm continue to make Fox’s the yard of choice for anyone on the east coast.

Sam Hall, who joined Fox’s as a junior rigger in 2016, has been promoted to the role of Client Co-ordinator and is the point of contact for all customers once their project has been handed over from the sales team. Sam will liaise with customers and deal with any growth of their project right through to handover.

Lucy Peat has been promoted to the position of Operations Manager – with her broad understanding of the business and ruthless efficiency, she will be in charge of department resource planning, recruitment and managing the smooth operation of the office.

Ollie Patten continues as Production Manager, a role he has naturally grown into and now manages so well. With his ever calm, positive and instinctively practical approach, Ollie leads the production team supported by Sam and Lucy.

We are confident this new arrangement, along with our experienced management team and skilled workforce, will provide Fox’s with an efficient platform to manage and deliver high quality projects for all our customers, for which the Fox’s business is renowned.
