Helping aid to reach the British Virgin Islands

Over the last few decades, many of the blue water cruising yachts that have been launched and commissioned here at Fox’s have crossed the Atlantic, eventually finding their way to the beautiful British Virgin Islands, where much of the local economy relies on visiting yachtsmen and tourism. We were therefore saddened to see the devastation caused by the recent hurricanes and delighted to be able to play a very small role in helping get aid to those in need.

When Fiona Sparks from West Mersea, who runs yacht support service, Shoreside Procurement Ltd, and who has many contacts in Tortola, asked her local Mersea community to donate food, toiletries, nappies, towels, bedding and building materials, we were pleased to be able to loan Fiona the Fox’s van to collect and transport the donated goods to the shippers. Kestrel Shipping run a weekly service to the Caribbean and generously offered to ship the aid Fiona collected for free, and it’s now on its way to help those who need it most.
