Meet Jordan Romero, another long standing member of the Fox’s team, with a total of 23 years service under his belt.
As a youngster Jordan hadn’t envisaged a marine career, but an apprenticeship at Felixstowe Ferry sparked an interest in boats. On completion of his training he joined Fox’s as a Shipwright, and apart from a short break building boats in America, he has been a fixture in the workshop ever since.
Now Workshop Supervisor, Jordan is responsible for the smooth running of the workshop. Projects range from simple boat repairs to extensive re-builds or re-modelling. The team are all highly skilled in GRP and composite repairs and Jordan himself is renown for his expertise in gel matching and re-finishing.
Jordan enjoys the challenging projects the most - restoring a very damaged or neglected vessel so it leaves the workshop looking like new. As a naturally creative person he relishes involvement in the design side of refits and repairs, working with clients to encourage them to think outside of the box when it comes to fulfilling their requirements.
Jordan confesses that after working around boats all day he is not particularly interested in sailing. In his spare time cars take priority, in particular BMW’s… with the current model being his fourteenth BMW!
