Meet Clare, the brave lady who keeps the Fox’s Rigging and Electronics team in order… and she still always has a smile on her face!
Clare first joined Fox’s as a rigging apprentice in 2010, after many years working on boats in various capacities ranging from a Sunsail instructor to crew/stewardess on superyachts. After 18 months she left Fox’s to relocate with her husband. Two children and five years later we were delighted to welcome her back as Rigging and Electronics Administrator.
Clare is a key to the smooth running of the Rigging and Electronics department, assisting with purchasing, stores and managing general team morale… responsibilities for this very important aspect of the job include supervising the weekly ‘Fox’s weigh in’ and the sausage roll rota!
When asked what her favourite aspect of the job is, Clare replies “My colleagues and customers. It’s never a chore to come to work” Having always worked on boats she also loves the fact that there is still the connection to the water and in her words “Being outdoors is good for the soul.”
Clare’s fondest memories of her time at Fox’s (apart from a massive snowball fight involving the whole yard!) go back to her rigging days, going to the top of large masts and driving the forklift. She’s only too happy to stand in now if any help is needed, and she is proud to say that she can still splice and regularly practices to keep her eye in.
