Meet the Fox's Team - Adam Bird

Meet Adam Bird. Adam joined Fox’s Stainless department nine years ago as a Welder/Fabricator, coming from a similar background in laser profiling and cutting.

Adam now supervises the busy stainless department at Fox’s and whilst he is responsible for the day-to-day running of the department, he is also very much hands-on, engineering, fabricating, polishing and machining a whole host of projects from tailor-made gimbles and hand-rails to stanchions and chain plates. The more complicated the job the more enjoyable for Adam, with his favourite of the moment being the design and fabrication of large arches for solar panels and the intricate detail required by Spirit Yachts. You can admire Adams handiwork on the two Gunfleets currently in the yard and also on many of the recent Spirit Yachts.

Adams most memorable moment of his career so far is the night of the dramatic floods of 2013. The worst floods in over 40 years caused havoc in the middle of the night. With water pouring over the sea walls, the Fox’s team had to quickly move 40 to 50 boats whilst Adam rapidly extended the piles for the pontoons to stop them floating away!

When he’s not crafting metal Adam can be found climbing or partaking in the brutal muddy obstacle races, Nucleur Races.
