SEA-KIT X-Class at Fox's

We are excited to welcome local company SEA-KIT International to Fox’s.

SEA-KIT has chosen Fox’s as a commissioning base for their ground-breaking, remote-controlled, Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs) which provide cost-effective, environmentally sustainable solutions for the maritime and research industries. Originally launched out of SEA-KIT’s production facility in Tollesbury in Essex, SEA-KIT favoured Fox’s for its deeper water, large berths and boatyard facilities.

The first boat to launch at Fox’s is the third SEA-KIT X-class, a 12 metre USV that acts as a parent vessel for remote vehicles such as Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) and Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) that can be launched and recovered from the USV’s configurable payload bay. This particular USV is the second of its kind built for leading geo-data specialist Fugro and will be heading to Aberdeen for a subsea inspection project. All SEA-KIT USVs are remotely controlled via a diverse range of resilient communication channels, meaning they can be operated from a remote operations centre, anywhere in the world. SEA-KIT’s designs have the capacity for long-range and long-endurance missions, allowing exploration of the world’s oceans with significantly reduced carbon emissions.

Visit www.sea-kit.com to see footage of these vessels in action and for details of other projects including an innovative USV design set to change the future of superyacht operations.
