Fox’s Stainless shines on New Spirit 74

Fox’s Stainless was recently asked to produce a set of custom made, stainless steel window frames by Spirit Yachts for their all-new classic yacht, the Spirit 74.

The new Spirit 74 is arguably the most significant build from the Ipswich-based Spirit yard in the last five or six years and the result is one of the most quintessentially perfect Spirits yet built.

“The innovative and thoroughly contemporary fan skylights and windows in the coachroof blend superbly with the pure classical lines of the hull design and the perfect cleanness of the deck layout.”  Spirit Yachts

With their very distinct design detailing for the centreline overhead fan-shaped skylight, and port and starboard saloon windows, this was both a cosmetic and technical challenge involving over 150 hours of handcrafting by the experienced team at Fox’s Stainless.

Once the concept design details were agreed with Spirit Yachts, the production was left to Fox’s Stainless. Custom parts were laser cut, bent to shape and fabricated prior to being finished to a mirror polish externally and shot blasted internally. Using the latest bonding technology removed the need for any unsightly stress raising fastenings.

The finished result is breathtaking and has received fantastic reviews from the international yachting press, so much so that the window design has immediately been adopted by Spirit Yachts for their new Spirit 65, which is due to launch next year.
