Fugro Valkyrie – high speed survey vessel repaired at Fox’s

The 12m Catapult 396 high speed hydrographic survey vessel operated by Fugro, Fugro Valkyrie, recently arrived at Fox’s in need of repairs to her deck and plywood-cored GRP hull and a coat of new antifoul.

She is specially equipped to provide accurate and high resolution survey data with the latest survey equipment including: hull-mounted dual head dual frequency Reson 7125 SV2 multibeam echosounder; hull-mounted Applied Acoustics USBL; Geometrics G-882 magnetometer; Edgetech 4200 sidescan sonar; hull-mounted Knudsen 320Ms single beam echosounder; hull-mounted SES pinger; and Applanix POS MV IARTK and MRU for navigation.

Capable of operating safely in the shallowest waters, Fugro Valkyrie is the ideal vessel choice for operations in inter-tidal and nearshore environments serving clients in the renewables, oil and gas, aggregates and ports and harbours sectors. Her two 450 HP Iveco engines provide high manoeuvrability ensuring efficient operations in strong currents and challenging locations, such as offshore wind farms.
