48-tonne ferry, King Arthur, arrives at Fox’s for welding work

Once a familiar site in Gloucester Quays, where she provided tourist trips along the Sharpness Canal, the pleasure vessel, King Arthur, is now in private ownership and is being converted into a live-aboard.

She was brought to Fox’s for welding work and at over 20m LOA and weighing 48 tonnes she arrived on a 38m road trailer with a police escort.

Her journey by road and arrival at Fox’s will feature in a new series of Ultimate Movers on Dave TV, scheduled to air later this year.

Apologies to our neighbours and local road users who were held up whilst the experienced delivery crew from Kings Haulage negotiated the very tight turn into the Fox’s yard – luckily the Fox’s sign survived!
