With yachts gathering for this year’s RORC North Sea Race, hosted by the Royal Harwich Yacht Club and scheduled to start off Harwich on Friday morning, Fox’s Marina & Boatyard is providing support to several yachts and enjoying a real marina side view of offshore racing highlights and an amazing 40 years of design development.

Yachts arriving at Fox’s this evening include Cornelis van Riestchoten’s 1977/78 Whitbread race winner, the 19.86m Sparkman & Stephens classic Flyer, now operated by the charity the Foundation for the Preservation of Flyer; the Bruce Farr designed Volvo Ocean 60 Boudragon, previously known as Silk Cut she was skippered by Lawrie Smith in the 1997-98 Whitbread Round the World Race and is now sailed out of Scheveningen by the Holland Ocean Racing Academy; and the Ker 51 Oystercatcher XXXIII, launched in 2012 and well-known on the IRC racing circuit as Tonnerre 4.

A big welcome to all our visitors to Fox’s Marina and fair winds to those taking part in this year’s North Sea Race.
