The Fox’s rigging and electronics teams have been working hard in Las Palmas in the Canary Islands to support the fleet of ten Oyster yachts taking part in this year’s Atlantic Rally for Cruisers, which departed from Gran Canaria on Sunday 25 November. Working closely with Oyster’s own support team, the Fox’s engineers and riggers have provided a full rig check for every Oyster as well as troubleshooting and fixing any last minute rig and electronics issues, which has given those owners and crews taking part peace of mind as they set out on their adventure of a lifetime.
Ranging from the veteran, USA flagged Oyster 435, Sail be Happy, to the majestic, new Oyster 825, Albatros, eight out of the ten Oysters taking part were originally launched, rigged and commissioned at Fox’s Marina & Boatyard.
The Oyster fleet also includes Ross Applebey’s striking, and very fast, red hulled Oyster Lightwave 48, Scarlet Oyster, a familiar sight in Antigua Sailing Week and the ARC and looking to add to her impressive consecutive five class wins in the ARC racing division.
