Fox’s Marina Yacht Club’s Two Rivers Race 2018

The Fox’s Marina Yacht Club Two Rivers Race, sponsored by Fox’s Marina & Boatyard was held in glorious sunshine last weekend with a record fleet of 20 yachts taking part. The annual, fun event was previously organised by the late Sarah Jane Cook who sadly passed away earlier this year. Fox’s Marina’s Lee Gilson took up the reins as OOD for the 2018 event, managing handicaps, starts and finishes and Sarah’s daughter, Fiona, presented the prizes.

The Fox’s Two Rivers Race sees crews use their navigational and sailing skills to complete a course of navigational marks with runners being despatched to nominated licenced premises on the Rivers Orwell and Stour to down a pint and collect a token!

Easily winning first place and finishing a long way ahead of the next boat was Fox’s Workshop Manager, Ollie Patten and Fox’s workshop technician, Hobie Wright, in their recently restored SJ30, displaying brilliant sailing and boat handling skills by dropping and collecting their runners under spinnaker!

Fox’s MD, Will Taylor-Jones and his wife Jenny were guest crew on board Helena Scott’s Parker Super Seal 27, Honeyseal,  recently refitted at Fox’s Marina & Boatyard.

FMYC was packed for the Saturday evening prize giving and BBQ, which was enjoyed by all.
