The Ocean Youth Trust North’s steel- hulled sail training vessel, James Cook, has been relaunched and rigged following her extensive refit at Fox’s Marina & Boatyard over the last few months.
With a number of bookings scheduled for the new season, the first setting sail from Newcastle within a few days of her relaunch, the complete recoating of the hull and deck has been postponed until the end of the season when we expect James Cook to return to Fox’s Marina & Boatyard.
Following a fresh coat of topside paint and antifoul, the yacht was re-rigged and commissioned prior to her new crew taking delivery. They can now look forward to a busy season of sail training, including taking part in the Tall Ships Races and many other events during 2018.
