Fox’s assists yacht donated to Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust

Fox’s has recently assisted the owners of a Bavaria 37, Audere, after they decided to donate their yacht to the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust.

After seven years ownership, David Durrant, Andrew Wiseman and Mark Parker found they no longer had time to use Audere and listed her on the brokerage market in December 2015. By July 2016, without a serious buyer in sight, they all agreed they would rather donate the yacht to a worthy cause than accept a low offer or see her languish ashore over another winter.

David Durrant commented, “During our times competing in Cowes in the Little Britain Challenge, we became aware of the excellent work of the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust and approached them to see if they would be interested in taking Audere to further their work. After a conversation with their Chief Executive, Frank Fletcher, they were very pleased to accept her.

Our thanks to Fox’s Marina & Boatyard who, when they heard we had donated the yacht to the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust, gave Audere a complimentary engine service and made sure she was ready and in good shape for her delivery down the Ellen MacArthur Trust in Cowes before we departed Fox’s. “
