Paul Wright – 80′ Motoryacht, 18-2

September 2016

“In August this year we brought my new boat, 18-2, on its inaugural voyage from Holland direct to Fox’s Marina. We chose Fox’s for it all-states-of-tide access and its availability of trades to carry out fit out works.

I have to say it was a good choice!

Our 80’ all steel trawler yacht could not have been made more welcome; it was well cared for in a secure environment and with a friendly response to any requests we made.

Added to which we utilised the services of the various inhouse tradespeople on the Fox’s site – most notably the stainless steel works we had done to the boat. These works were carried out swiftly, sometime within 24 hours of asking, and to a standard as high as anywhere achievable in Europe.

Add to that an economically priced berthing charge and great café. All I can say is that when the boat is back in England from its current Mediterranean base, it will be coming straight back to Fox’s!

Well done and keep up the good work.”

Louis J M Goor – Oyster 575, Irene III

May 2016

“Please accept my most sincere thanks to you and all the team at Fox’s in preparing Irene III in the last few weeks.

It has been the most amazing experience dealing with you all at Fox’s. From George on the electronics, Henry on the charts, Tom in the Chandlery, Will on gas, Paul on canvas work, Peter Evans on the naming and of course Jon for the sails – and there are many more I am sure – please pass on my thanks to all involved.

Irene III is now in great condition and I can assure you she will be used, cared for, and loved in the coming years.

We look forward to working with Fox’s again.”

Mark Smith – RS Vareo

May 2016

“Just a note to thank you for the work your team recently did on my RS Vareo, which had suffered from a cracked chine and gunwale.  The boat came back looking brand new – in fact I was asked by a club member if I had bought a new hull !

I liked the flexibility the Fox’s yard demonstrated, the quick turn around and the updates.  I will certainly use Fox’s for dinghy work in future and would strongly recommend the yard to other dinghy sailors.”

Andy & Gina Hilton – Oyster 56, ‘Into the Blue

“We’d like to thank you and the terrific team at Fox’s Marina & Boatyard for the outstanding work carried out on our Oyster 56 Into the Blue. There was not one person who didn’t show kindness and care for what we wanted and how the work was carried out. Gina and I are truly grateful.

There are too many thanks to make and too many individuals who helped way beyond being employees at the Marina, the electronics/electrical team, the mechanical guys and the rigging department, just all brilliant people and all a credit to the Company.

One observation we’d like to make is that throughout the extensive refit on Into the Blue we never came across the feeling of ‘job creation’. That was very refreshing and, in our experience, is unusual among some boat yards and marinas. For that alone we are very grateful and it certainly made the whole process a pleasant experience. Although we were very keen to leave and start our travels we were sad to leave Fox’s as we’re leaving many good friends behind.”

Owner, Fountaine Pajot Lavezzi Catamaran

“We would like to mention the superb service we have received from Fox’s Marina. We have visited the boat on numerous occasions and we have had fantastic communication every week on the progress, including photographs of ongoing work and the timetable of scheduled works. Ralph Catchpole has been so helpful it’s untrue, giving us peace of mind and keeping us up to date with whatever we have asked of him. Jordan who carried out the work on our boat also deserves a massive pat on the back for the works done – again a superb effort. We would highly recommend Fox’s Marina.”

Andrew & Julia Dallas – Oyster 56, ‘Hullabaloo’

“We purchased a 10-year old Oyster 56, which was essentially in good condition, but was in need of a spruce up and modernisation following a circumnavigation. We entrusted Fox’s with the work, which included amongst other things, pulling the rig, stripping and re-painting it and renewing the standing and running rigging. The navigation and entertainment systems were replaced or updated. The decks were sanded and the mechanical parts all serviced.

Throughout the process the professional advice we received and the workmanship were excellent. Everything was completed on time.

We would have no problems recommending Fox’s Marina & Boatyard for refit work.”

Julia Linehan – Operations Director, ‘Havengore’

“Havengore has just left Ipswich after her first refit at Fox’s Marina.  This year we had some difficult work to do on Keel Bolts/Band, as well as the usual things that a boat of Havengore’s age and pedigree requires.  There were some complex issues to overcome but we found Fox’s extremely proactive in finding the best solutions whilst observing the integrity of the boat.  The facilities were second to none, they have a highly motivated team who were efficient and easy to work with.  The refit was superbly managed, and we are extremely happy with the quality of the work, all of which was delivered on time and to budget.”

John Odgers – ‘Polyphon’

“Just a quick line to thank you all for the excellent work you did, replacing my stolen electric windlass. Nigel did a superb job with the woodwork etc, and Adam was very good and careful when running the cables through my boat.

It is this kind of service that makes one come back to Fox’s.

I would also like to thank Karl and his engineers for sorting out my steering problem. I will be back to have the new gearbox installed in October. Thank you all once again”

Neil & Kath Cummins – ‘Vivere’

“Many thanks to your guys for the slick and professional launch of Vivere last week – what could have been a stressful event was a breeze, thanks to the cheerful and helpful attitude of your team, which was much appreciated.”

Geoff Ballinger – ‘Sassy Blue’

“I just thought I would let you know how pleased and satisfied we are with the work you did on Sassy Blue. Thank you also for so quickly sorting things out on Monday morning. Please pass on my thanks and appreciation to all those involved in the repairs. ”

Michael Asker – ‘Emma Lucie’

“Thank you very much for work carried out.  I am well pleased, Jordan has done a very good job.”

Mike & Jane Stevenson – ‘Boxer’

“Just a short email to thank you and your team for the excellent job they did on Boxer, we had a great week end sailing to and from Brightlingsea and everything worked, the decals looked great as did the filled holes in the cockpit. Thanks again.”

Ed Kelly – ‘Angel Louise’

“We really loved the quality of your Marina and wish we had such good service in the United States. Thanks to everyone we met there for helping us out.”

 Chris Woods – ‘Electra’

“My 12 year old Mercury 75 outboard suffered major engine cowling damage. The grp repair you carried out was amazing, completely rebuilding destroyed profiles and mouldings. It was a fantastic repair, particularly as the cowling was impossible to replace from stock.”

Andrew Snell – Fox’s Electronics Installation

“Dear George

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly with exactly the expert advice I was hoping for! I will get back to you at some time in the next two weeks once hopefully the deal will be done on the new boat. I may well need to upgrade in the future and we can hopefully put together a balanced package . Thanks once again, you helped me out earlier in the summer with my Plotter that was freezing and flipping down near Felixstowe docks. ”
