Hurricane damaged Oyster 56 returns to Fox’s for repair

We were delighted to recently take delivery of the Oyster 56, Stealer VI, albeit in less than ideal circumstances.

Stealer VI was originally launched and commissioned at Fox’s Marina & Boatyard in 2001 and has remained under the same ownership since then. Unfortunately, whilst laid up ashore in the British Virgin Islands, this fine yacht suffered significant damage during the 2017 hurricane that left a trail of destruction and devastation across the Caribbean. She has now been shipped back to the UK and delivered to Fox’s Marina & Boatyard for repair.

Working closely with her owners, their representative and insurers, Pantaenius, Fox’s has developed a comprehensive repair plan to restore this yacht to the first class condition she was in prior to the hurricane damage. Scheduled work includes significant repair to interior joinery and sole boards, composite repairs to her damaged hull and deck, spar painting and rebuilding, stripping out and replacing much of the vessel’s systems, including engine and genset, pumps, wiring and engineering systems.

With the interior stripped out and visually seamless composite repairs to the hull and deck nearing completion, the skilled team at Fox’s is now breathing life back into this lovely, classic Oyster.
