Team Fox’s invited to join Oyster Yachts Palma Regatta
All those lucky enough to have taken part would agree that the recent Oyster Regatta in Palma de Mallorca was a great success on every level – from first class sailing in a mix of conditions, to the beautiful locations chosen for some super cool and very relaxed social evenings – it really was an exceptional event.
The ‘offshore’ passage races, arriving and departing under the spectacular cliffs at Andraitx, were undoubtedly a highlight of the event, whilst larger class starts and some great course setting made the racing around the Bay of Palma equally exciting.
The new team at Oyster Yachts should be congratulated on this, their ‘first’ event under the guidance of new owner and CEO, Richard Hadida, which has certainly set the standard for future Oyster regattas! Fox’s staff, which included Managing Director Will Taylor-Jones, Sales Manager Richard Hamer and Rigging Manager, Mike Lake, were honoured to be involved and very fortunate to be invited to sail on various yachts including the Oyster 625, Orcinus, achieving a fourth place in Class 2.
Orcinus, which was one of six Oyster 625’s taking part in the regatta, underwent an extensive refit at Fox’s Marina & Boatyard last year, after she was sold through Oyster Brokerage, and was racing in the same class as Oyster 675-01, whose stunning paintwork was carried out by the Fox’s specialist paint team last year.
