Kismet, the 1898 Fife, which underwent an extensive restoration after spending over 50 years laying in the east coast mud, has won the prestigious Yacht Club de France’s Coupe d’Automne, the feeder race from Cannes to Saint Tropez, and part of the Voiles de Saint Tropez Regatta in which Kismet is taking part.
With nearly 130 classic yachts in the event, Kismet, at 120 years old, is one of the oldest yachts in the regatta fleet and has had various work carried out at Fox’s Marina & Boatyard over the last decade, including most recently an extensive refit ahead of her debut at the Voiles de Saint Tropez Regatta. We’d like to think the extra care and attention to detail from the dedicated team at Fox’s who help look after her has helped her to success, but without doubt all the credit must go to her owner and helm, Richard Matthews.
