The Ocean Youth Trust North’s sail training ketch, James Cook, has arrived at Fox’s Marina & Boatyard in Ipswich where she will undergo an extensive refit over the coming winter months. Work will include welding to her 70’ LOA, 54 tonne steel hull, a full repaintmarine engineeringmarine electronics work and rigging.  She will be relaunched in spring 2018 ready for a busy summer season.

James Cook is one of two Shipwright 70 sail training vessels built by apprentices on the Tyne and launched some 30 years ago.

Ocean Youth Trust North is a charity specialising in the personal development of young people and adults through ocean sailing.
