It’s not every day we see a Border Force patrol vessel here at Fox’s Marina & Boatyard, but the 20m Delta ‘ALERT’ called in to see us this week. One of four vessels of this type patrolling 11,000 miles of British mainland coastline, she is fitted with Hamilton waterjet drive engines and capable of up to 26 knots. Her shallow draft makes her ideal for patrolling east coast waters and her skipper asked us to remind local yachtsmen to report anything suspicious they may see whist at sea.
