South coast based J160, Jeu d’Esprit, refits at Fox’s

The well known J160, Jeu d’Esprit, is owned by Clem Jones who purchased her new in the US in 2000 as a 60th birthday present to himself!

Since then, Clem and his family have both cruised and raced the yacht extensively, including numerous Atlantic crossings, completed several Fastnets and the Round Britain and Ireland Race.

Jeu d’Esprit is normally berthed on the Beaulieu River, however with plans to cruise and explore the Baltic and with family based in Suffolk, Fox’s Marina & Boatyard offered the perfect location for Jeu d’Esprit to lay up for the winter and undergo various refit and service work.

Having clocked up significant mileage, the yacht’s carbon spars and rod and running rigging was all due for an overhaul. Clem was impressed with the facilities at Fox’s and, having met the team and received a sensible proposal for work, a complete new rod rigging package was ordered.  In addition, new running rigging was made in the Fox’s Rigging workshops, stainless fittings and deck gear repaired, topsides polished, bottom anti-fouled and stern gear serviced. This elegant, fast cruising is now ready to go again!
