Fox’s welcomes trainee marine surveyors to the yard

This month, we welcome the return of another eight trainee marine surveyors who will be undertaking their four-week ‘Yacht and Small Craft Survey Course’, which is held here at Fox’s Marina & Boatyard by Small Craft Survey Training.

Under the watchful eye of course leaders Martin Evans and Aidan Tuckett, who are both full time surveyors with their own commercial practices, this popular course is normally run twice a year and is the only practical, on site training course of its type in the UK, taking in delegates from around the world.

With much of the course based here at Fox’s Marina & Boatyard, both students and instructors can take advantage of seeing first hand the full range of marine repair and refit services carried out at Fox’s Marina & Boatyard.

Surveyor Martin Evans commented:

“Fox’s has grown to be one of the most well equipped, up to date and flexible repair facilities in the country, offering a complete range of high quality services on one site. It provides the ideal environment for our students and we are extremely grateful to Will Taylor-Jones and the team at Fox’s for allowing us free access to all parts of the yard. The benefits to our delegates of seeing real work in progress at close quarters and an astounding variety of challenging defects and damage being rectified professionally cannot be over-stated – we believe that surveying cannot be learned or taught by remote study alone.”
