Fox’s supports the North Sea wind farm industry

Fox’s support for the growing number of commercial operators servicing the North Sea wind farms continues with Essex based, CWind 247, bringing their 19m support vessel,  CWind Challenger, to Fox’s Marina & Boatyard for annual maintenance and general refit work.

Our first task was to release and lift CWind’s wheelhouse, which is designed and built as a modular pod, allowing the starboard engine to be craned out and a replacement engine installed.  She was then carefully moved to the Fox’s blasting bay so that her composite hulls could be soda blasted and prepared for Coppercoat, whilst the alloy jet drive components were cleaned up and prepared for finishing with International Paint’s latest Fluoropolymer foul release coating.

Electrical work included new engine room lighting, installation of twelve, new engine start and domestic batteries, a new VHF antenna and radar brackets installed on the newly repaired alloy communication mast.

Fox’s Stainless fabricated new, improved transom exhaust flaps and have designed and built a bespoke boarding ladder.

Final detailing has included repairs to the helm seat upholstery prior to the vessel being recommissioned at Fox’s.
