Fox’s Marina & Boatyard has been chosen to complete the first H39, a new 39ft IRC Cruiser-Racer from the Humphreys Yacht Design office in Lymington. The first of these new designs is at the Fox’s yard now and is due to launch in late May.

The new H39 marks a return to the dual purpose cruiser-racer and features include a berth for every crew member; a proper cockpit; seamanlike galley with an oven and fridge; a permanently fitted saloon table and, going forward, the yacht has an enclosed WC with a hot and cold shower.

IMG_1417-largeThe composite hull structure was built by a specialist contractor and work carried out by the team at Fox’s will include: fitting the keel, rudders and all deck gear; engine installation; fairing and painting the hull; complete electrical installation and fitting out of the yacht’s interior. Fox’s Stainless has fabricated all the custom fittings and Fox’s Rigging will be making both the standing and running rigging.

Designed to be competitive under the IRC handicap rule, the yacht is expected to participate in both the UK and European IRC Championships this season.

Fox’s welcomes similar projects and we are hopeful that more examples of the new H39 will be coming to Fox’s later this year.
